OWH Sketch #11 is Blooming for Operation Write Home Memorial Day Bloghop 2012

WELCOME to the HOP of all BLOGHOP's!

Welcome to this stop on Operation Write Home's Memorial Day Bloghop 2012. This is my fourth year participating...thanks so much for joining us in celebrating!!! Our family is so proud and grateful for all of our men and women serving in the armed forces. My brother-in-law just returned from his deployment to Afghanistan at the end of April. My sister and her two "Weinee-tots"{Daschunds} are so happy for his return.

My card design is following Operation Write Home's Sketch #11. I am using a floral Mary Vogel Lozinak Stamp from Viva Las Vegastamps! stamped on a paper painted using a technique from Traci Bautista's "Collage Unleashed". Layered on a natural brown handmade paper is a hand misted black cardstock using a mist made of Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer and Bronze Terri Sproul Mixers! I will be entering this in the VLVS Mary Vogel Lozniak Link Up Bloghop which is going on this weekend as well which will feature creations using Mary's hand-drawn images pressed to rubber. CLICK HERE to visit that hop!

**BLOG CANDY** I will be having a RAK giveaway of goodies
from comments left between now and June 4th. Good luck!!!

My Little Sister is 10 years my junior and nearly a foot taller than me. This photo is from her deployment ceremony that was in Fort Lauderdale in January 2010.   {{ artful hugs }} : ) Sb

Wow, I'm impressed at you maintaining THREE blogs, and making cards for each! I had a little more difficulty "getting" the technique you used here, but it is a lovely card. Nice bright yellow (on black?).

Striking. In this context, it evokes the fields that are graves. Here in NZ, the red Flanders Poppy is our floral "memorial" flower, which we wear on our equivalent, ANZAC day.
